Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Internship/Job-bridge and welfare payment question

I was moved from JSB to JSA earlier in the year, but because I have savings from a redundancy payment I only get €10 per week from social welfare.

My question is, if I get one of these internship jobs, do I get paid €10+€50 per week? Or the €188+€50 per week. Thanks

You will receive an allowance equivalent to your current Social Welfare allowance plus an additional €50 per week for the duration of the internship (internship allowance).

Not much of an incentive then, I probably be poorer every week after paying for petrol etc.

Only you will know if its financially viable. Transport and childcare costs often make these schemes hard for people to take up.

There are however other, non-financial, benefits, like getting your foot in the door in a company, making contacts, keeping yourself in touch with the labour market and getting yourself out of the house, all very important.
