Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This stretch of road is lethal...in the last 6 months Iv come across at least 4 cars and one South Dublin CC refuse truck that has gone into the ditch outside the late Liam Lawlors home.

The road is very narrow..but with a very deep unprotected ditch on the right side. Im just wondering why the council hasnt done something about this very busy, but very dangerous road. The last car I saw in the ditch ( only last week) was a 08 Toyota Verso...and before Christmas a 06 Golf had to be cut apart by the Fire Brigade to get the driver out.

They really need to build a more direct, modern road that does that route - I don't use it any more due to the relatively high traffic for a terrible twisty country lane. One of the girls in work does and reports similar every few weeks though. Used to be a nice "short"cut to south Lucan for me, now I'll take the N4 even.

I use it most days to avoid the traffic ques on the Adamstown road junction with the N4...so Im on the bad side of the road ( in relation to the ditch).

I woulda thought after the Bin truck slid into the ditch that the council would have taken note of such a dangerous back road...and sure with the second phase of Adamstown going up the traffic volumes are only going to increase.

All it would take would be a couple of tonnes of backfill to sort the problem...

It looks like it will be fixed as part of Adamstown development.
It is hard to follow the route from a plan of the area from the Adamstown website:

Thanks for the link coward...it looks like they are going to re-align the entire road...

Yes it's narrow and twisty, there are a lot of potholes and there a few bad corners before the ditch. So you'd think people would take a hint and slow down.

Have cycled it before, wouldn't now.

I always come to a complete stop when I meet oncoming traffic...theres no-way i gonna risk my car.

I think the problem is that people not used to the road, dont see the ditch or dont realise just how deep it is. It really got to me when i saw the car getting choped to bits ( it had its roof completly removed)....and a 08 Verso...the owners must be snapping!!

now i might be abit cynical here but the reason imo it has,nt been touched is the fact that the people living on that road have or had some influence on planning have you ever wondered why the rest of the area was pulled apart and this road remained a country lane ;) a little green patch in the urban sprall

Jeze..I actually never thought of it like that!!!!!
