Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sky Digital without a phone connection

    I have seen some advertisers advertising free Sky Digital installation with no landline needed. This would be ideal for me as do not have an eircom phone line. Am I likely to fall foul of Sky at some stage if I opt for an installation without a landline connection? Has anyone else had an install from a dealer without having a phoneline?

    should be ok, it just takes a little more time to get your box installed afaik, as the installation company has to leave your box sittign in their office connected to the phone line for a week or so first, so that if the box tries to dial up it can. but after that initial period you don't need to connect again for it to work.

    afaik you need to order it and then post your card to them so they can activate it over the course of a week.

    then you're set.

    yeah that's right, i ordered my sky digital last week and that's pretty much what i have to do. still haven't gotten me card in the post though. have to pay the installer €125 as well, maybe i just got shafted?

    perhaps not, the retailer maybe covering his back if sky claim the 75 euro installation cost back from him
