Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wow.. I live in Beijing. I'm definitely having that for lunch tomorrow. I want to see if I hallucinate the hills of Ireland and pipe music, while suddenly becoming a native Chinese speaker. I'm a bit nervous I'll end up with that hair tho.

    Very misleading advertisement...

Considering the amount of take aways and Chinese nationals in the country I'd find it hard to believe that they wouldn't!!

Also loving the fact the stereotype just isn't a western one. "Hmmm how can we make this more Irish?.....Oh I know douse it with drink!!!"

Maybe this is their revenge for us eating 3in1s and chicken balls and calling it Chinese food.

Only available in China, alas. I wonder exactly what it is about this chicken that makes it taste "Irish"...it looks like they just slosh a bottle of Bailey's over it before feeding it to some dude dressed like Oscar Wilde. Maybe they throw a few shamrocks on it or have leprechauns on the box, something authentic like that.

Actually, maybe it tastes like chicken from Supermac's...that'd be pretty Irish...

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,933 ✭✭✭Logical Fallacy

In the words of late, great Col. Sanders..."I'm too drunk to taste this chicken".

I don't want KFC destroying the good name of Irish Chicken in China

Ireland itself looks good in that ad....like the way it looks in those bord failte adds...tis amazing what an auld helicopter flyover shot, a bit of a castle and something that looks like a wine cellar does for the country

makes me wonder if I should trust those explore turkey adds

Consider all the 'authentic Italian' stuff sold in supermarkets here that my Italian friends have never heard of, in the same way it's just an image to shift more units.

It's not Irish chicken, it's the taste of Irish chicken.

    Deffo not the same thing.

Not that it's too great anywhere, but KFC in China is one of the mankiest things I have ever eaten in my life!! Bleurgh!!! It's all the brown scrappy parts of meat tied together with batter.

How remiss of me. Next time I go to start a thread I must remember to read back over every single thread started for the last 6 months to make sure it hasn't already been done "months ago". Or should I go back further? Perhaps a year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,113 ✭✭✭✭ejmaztec

As most of our chicken comes from China, I suppose they're right in a way.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,562 ✭✭✭✭Sunnyisland

Its a finger licken good photo shoot of Ireland,Expect to see millions of chinese arriving to see our great colonel Saunders who defeated the english chicken and banished them from our shores.
