Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've been with Meteor for 7 years (pretty much joined them when they started out) and I've never found fault with them, bar some reception problems in one particular area (but it's in a valley so it's not *really* Meteor's fault).
I have free calls & texts to Meteor numbers every month (when I top up by €20) and I generally don't spend more than €30-€40 a month. I think I only have 2 people who I regulary call/text who aren't with Meteor so that's all I spend credit on.

    Doesn't make sense

3 is the only way to go. €19 a month covers all my texts and calls comfortably.

On it's own? Does that not piss you off when you get the bill?

    Doesn't make sense

How does it not make sense??

I'm on Meteor - therefore I have free Meteor to Meteor calls and texts.

I know 2 people who are on Vodafone/O2, so I spend my credit texting/calling them.

And I said that I use €30-€40 a month.... how is it not making sense for you?

I'm on O2..And yes I switched for the iPhone :) Here is how the Userbase of each company breaks down:

    Vodafone- Business people
    O2- Young adults, teenagers
Meteor- Complete Randomers who ****e on about how Meteor was the first network to offer free texts etc.
3- People who switched over to 3 when it came to Ireland thinking it was a new, fresh network but then realised how crap it was and regret it.
    Tesco- Plebs...complete plebs

My friend's Dad works for Vodafone and says he can't understand why anyone would use them, they're such a rip off. If he wasn't getting it free from them he'd be with meteor!

If I wasn't making international calls+texts all the time, I'd be hard pressed to spend 20euro a month, probs a lot less.
I have free texts to any network, and their phone charges aren't bad on the rare occasion I do use them. Even the intern'l rate to a landline ain't bad at all.
I don't see them as a rip off at all, tbh.

I was with vodafone for 8 years but switched to o2 because they had a phone i wanted. I much prefer vodafone and i want to go bak with them.
Ive had so much trouble with o2, i just hope vodafone will support my phone since it was exclusive with 02 and i dnt think its sold on any other network.

Is it just me or does this thread seem like a research thread.

I'd say most of the O2 users here or atleast a good bit of them are only O2 users so they can get their oh-so-precious iPhone.

    Not quite an iphone...

    I spend 10 euro a month on o2, why?
also meteor's ads are shyte and o2's are brilliant.

I don't see how you could spend €30-40 per month mainly ringing two people unless its a girlfriend/boyfriend but even then its not the brightest idea to be on different networks

I taught Meteor was top for ages now, that's why i can save so much money, nearly everyone i know is on Meteor, for me its only people who are 30+ or are on billpay that are on voda/o2
I agree a lot of young people are on meteor but id consider 20+ rather than 30+ that are on o2 or vodafone!

Remember, meteor is relatively new and was advertised in a way it seemed cheaper, and appealed to teenagers.
I have a spare meteor phone and in certain areas there's no coverage.
One thing i like about meteor is it's Irish.
