Portlaoise maternity

Just wondering does anyone have any opinions on Portlaoise Hospital specifically for maternity. Not pregnant yet just thinking ahead and it's the closest one to us so wondering what the options would be (public/private etc., is semi private only in the major cities?) and whether to go with there! This would be number 2 so should we go back to the same place as the first (rotunda) even tho we are now living much further away.
