Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Street sweeper truck kills Geelong man
    Thursday Mar 6 15:25 AEDT
A man has died after being dragged into a street sweeper south-east of Melbourne.

The 52-year-old Geelong man was standing at the rear of the large Hino sweeper truck, between the truck and the sweeping mechanism, while it was parked in a driveway at Grantville, 100km from Melbourne.

A police spokeswoman said it appeared the sweeping mechanism started and dragged the man in, causing fatal injuries.

Ambulance officers were called to the scene about 11.45am (AEDT) on Thursday but the man was already dead.

He had been working on the Bass Coast Highway dual road extension.

    WorkSafe is investigating the incident.

Maybe the man was actually a scumbag and the driver was doing his civil duty to clean up the rubbish on the streets. Wonder if that could be deemed a valid excuse and the tactic be trialled in Dublin?
