What is the best way from the Nenagh direction N7 to Shannon airport at around 9am on a weekday? Via Limerick or cross country at Birdhill to O'Briens Bridge and Six mile bridge?

    Thanks

If you're leaving Nenagh at 9am you should be passing through limerick by the time most of the early morning traffic has dispersed

The O'Briens Bridge way would take just as long IMO

I would want to be in Shannon by 9am.

I suggest you leave nenagh at 6:30 and use the Limerick city route on the first day to test things! Can easily take a good hour to get through Limerick and another hour to get from Limerick to Shannon on a bad morning

Leave early and you'll miss the morning traffic in Limerick (be in Limerick before 8 and you should be ok) and after that you'll have no problem getting to shannon.

Another reason why the limerick tunnel is going to be so handy

What route do you take thru Limerick, Out the ring road and ???

How well do you know limerick?

If you want you can take the ring road from annacotty as far as the quality hotel then take a left and on to the childers road from there take a right and down hyde road. Then go around by the peoples park and straight down mallow street and over the shannon bridge.

Poxylimerick's route should be fine before 8; later on traffic backs up from the Childers Road junction at Quality Hotel, and the People's Park area gets messy.

Probably don't follow the signposted route for the airport from the Nenagh side of the city, as after the ring road that takes you out the N20 to the west of the city, back in around Raheen, and citybound via the Dock Road. Quite indirect. Mind you, may be more straightforward if you still hit Dock Road before 8 am; you don't have even one set of traffic lights to go through, and the route is signposted.
