Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

yesterday in armagh the rira blew up a grey squirrell

    http://www.rte.ie/aertel/111-01.html

as they are a foreign animal which is leading to the decline of the red squirrell which is native,

(grey guy eats unripe acorns and red guy cannot eat the unripe acorns so no acorns for him)

    http://www.rte.ie/radio/mooneygoeswild/factsheets/mammals/index3.html

using the recognized code word 'dole smuggler asbo' the rira stated that the grey squirrel has to leave the island of ireland by the end of july or face what it called 'unlimited military action'

who will win the rira or the grey squirrell?

The article states a stone bridge was destroyed, where are you getting the squirrel part from?

Anyway, the squirrel was probably an informer and had to be killed.
After all, it seems to be acceptable to kill mothers of 10......

the late, now deceased, squirrell was on the bridge and had been known to use it as a short cut

    maybe an informer?
maybe he looked at one of the 9 rira men the 'wrong way' and had to live with the consequences:pac:

Grey squirrels were first introduced to Ireland in County Longford, when a guest to the Castleforbes Estate in Newtownforbes brought six pairs of squirrels as a wedding gift to the family of Lord Granard in 1911

Grey squirrels kill red squirrels because they carry a disease which does not effect them but kills the red ones... :(

    wiki

Outside the UK and Ireland, the threat from the eastern grey squirrel comes from a population in Piedmont, Italy, where two pairs escaped from captivity in 1948. A significant drop in red squirrel populations in the area has been observed since 1970, and it is feared that the eastern grey squirrel may expand into the rest of Europe.

The eastern grey squirrel population appears to be able to out-compete the red squirrel for various reasons:
The eastern grey squirrel can easily digest acorns, while the red squirrel cannot.
The eastern grey squirrel carries a disease, the squirrel parapoxvirus, that does not appear to affect their health but will often kill the red squirrel. It was revealed in 2008 that the numbers of red squirrels at Formby have recently declined by 80% as a result of this disease.[13]
When the red squirrel is put under pressure, it will not breed as often.
It is worth noting that the eastern grey squirrel and the red squirrel are not directly antagonistic towards each other, and direct violent conflict between these species is not a factor in the decline in red squirrel populations.

I thought the funny element superseded the breed element.
Especially considering a light sabre is involved.

Good to see that RIRA manage to have the time to do glorious patriotic deeds such as this in between their cigarette and vodka smuggling.

    Legitimate target.

When will our patriotic scientists make a vaccine for red squirrels to protect them against this foreign virus? Disgraceful that it hasn't happened yet.

well if they keep squirrell numbers and police numbers low around border

that helps their gloriously patriotic smuggling operations

a wonderful partnership of profiteering and love of country

'no greater glory hath man than love of tax free smuggling...'
