Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bought a 2004 Volvo V40 TD over the weekend,
only problem is the srs light stays on (this negotiated a reduction in the price) .Anybody know any independant Volvo experts in the Cork area , or any other solutions for fixing it or getting the car through the NCT?
    Thanks ...

Check the connections under both front seats, try to disconnect and reconnect them, that can sometimes be a simple fix.

    Thanks,
    will do ,
The car was in a minor shunt, and the passenger wing was replaced.. hope the light staying on is unrelated.

Found out from a local guy that the previous owner fitted new airbags himself but couldn't get rid of light in dash... hmmm..

Did he change the related impact (crash) sensors as well?
    Sometimes those get overlooked...

Are they expensive? How many are there and how do you know if they need changing or not?

If any of the airbags were deployed, then the related sensor ( front or side) must be changed as well.
In some older cars the sensor was built into the airbag ECU,which is big moolah (doesn't apply to your model).
I'm afraid the only way to pinpoint your problem is to get the car plugged in to see if we are talking about faulty sensor, airbag, clockspring, seatbelt,ECU etc.
But I'm afraid this was the reason the car was put up for sale...
