Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bottom Bracket

    I want to change the bottom bracket on my Planet X SL-pro. I have taken out the bb, its a SRAM GXP. The width is width of the shell is 68mm, the shaft/axle is 24mm. Its an English thread.

    I cant find an identical one on wiggle. The only compatible GXP has ceramic bearings and is too expensive. Can anyone tell me which if any of the shimano BB's are interchangeable. The specs dont always come up on wiggle, just 'for use with 5703 crankset...' or some such.

    I can see a pretty identical one on planetx.co.uk but ideally I'd order from wiggle.

    I've a shimano 105 - 5700 hollowtech 2 on my sl pro so that will def fit but you need to be sure it's compatible with your current crankset

    Its a SRAM GXP crankset. A 24mm shaft with a spline.Compact double.

    A shimano BB will not suit your SRAM crankset, its 24mm on the drive side but its 22mm (iirc) on the non drive side, Shimano cranks are 24mm on both sides.

    Thanks, mac. I worked that out by doing a search of old threads here.
    I've ordered the GXP one from Merlin as advised by Willy above.
