Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The last couple of weeks, riding across Dublin at five o'clock, it's started to feel like Amsterdam or somewhere, actual bike traffic jams, lights change and a herd of mixed-ability cyclists politely jostle ('er, sorry!') for poll position.
Never seen the city like this before, looks like a bigger shift in transport is underway than the 14% figures suggest?

The 14% was the shift between 2012 and 2013 and that count day is in November around the canal cordon.

A city centre count, mainly along the quays, put the shift between the same years as a 16% increase. This count is done in May.

Details of both and both reports in full are here: http://irishcycle.com/dublin-traffic-counts/

The trend could have accelerated since or between the 2012/2013 counts.

The impact of DublinBikes may be overestimated at times, but the extra DublinBikes on the streets since November could have helped with the increase. DublinBikes alone could already account for an extra 500 (or more bikes?) and a large percentage of those would be out at peak times.
