Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

US Census 1950

    Anybody know what date the US 1950 Census will be available on-line on Ancestry, family search etc?

    Obviously they don't follow a 100 year rule, but is it is a 70 year rule, 75 or 80?

    It's 70. They've already released 1940.

    2021 to 2022 most likely by the time its transcribed etc.

    April 1st 2022, US has a 72 year rule.

    If NARA follow the same release format as for 1940, all the digital images will be released on that date and full indexing will be completed by late summer by Ancestry and Familysearch.

    Who knows what kind of tech will be available by then though, maybe they will be able to index the census in 24 hours!
