Firearm good reason for use??

    Just looking through a firearm renewal form that came in the post today.

    On the last page where the Super/Chef Super has to tick boxes & sign off, the part where it states:
    "Has a good and sufficient reason for requiring the firearm. (Please note that sufficient reason relates only to restricted firearms)"

    Why then has everyone to supply 'Good Reason' to apply for an unrestricted firearm license????

    It's legaleese Clive,

    It states good and sufficient. The sentence in brackets states that "sufficient" only applies to restricted firearms. That means the word good is still applicable for all firearms.

    Yup. Good reason gets you a firearms cert; sufficiently good reason to have a restricted firearm (ie. no unrestricted firearm will do the job) gets you the restricted firearms cert.

    Just don't write down that you occasionally get drunk and wear cowboy outfit while shooting your gun in the air for New Years :)
