    Just wondering if anyone knows on their/their child's bus ticket if the home address is the same as the 'travel between' address. There s a bus that goes from around a 10 minute drive from the house which we presume is the right one as others get it but on the the ticket it has our exact address in the 'travel between' part. Does that mean there should be a bus from our house? Just curious as I know others get the bus from the other place and not their house, will be getting that one though.
    Thanks.

    Is this a ticket under the school transport scheme? It would be best to check with Bus Éireann.

    @Fiona
    Hi Fiona,

    I would advise that you check with bus eirann where your designated school is. There is no guarantee that the bus that is closest to you is the one you should be on. We made this presumption and now find ourselves in the ridiculous position of not being allowed on the bus that leaves 650m from our home and instead having to apply for a grant to get a bus that leaves 4km from our home. And here is the kicker.... There is no availability on the bus that is 4 km from our house:confused:. If you have to travel over 3.2 km to get the bus you are entitled to a grant from the board of education.

    Hope this will help you. Also you may want to get your self a copy of the "post primary transport scheme guidelines" available on bus eirann I believe.

    Knowledge is power.

    if you are in rural ireland and its your nearest school then you may be entitled to bus transport. Its usually 350 per child up to a maximum of €600 per year per family. this of course assumes there is a bus going to the school from your general area..

    The family max is €650, not €600.
    And if you are fully eligible a waiver of charges would apply if you held a medical card.
