Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Same here. Every time I try to go to bet early I get distracted :P

Don't take this the wrong way but would you not try to find a place where you could get valuable work experience, like a job that you may want in the future?Everyone can serve tea, right :D

Haha same! :P Ah no I get ya! See I don't have a clue of what id like to do yet when I leave school! I think acting would be good but idk to be honest yet! :(
I'm using TY to become alot more confident and I'm trying things out of my comfort zone so I think working at Spin would help me there also I'm doing work experience in like 8 completely different places so I'm getting plenty of experience :pac: :p

I slept for the rest of June and spent all my time on the internet after that...
I've never seen Gossip Girl- is it good? Watched the Godfather trilogy on RTE 2 though the last couple of Saturday nights :)
Oooh Brown Thomas...I went in there once when I was in Dublin and the sales assistants all glared at me (I think it was because I was in my big culchie raincoat and none of my family had any intention of buying anything and had only gone in to get out of the rain :') )

Haha I remember saying REALLY loudly when I was there that the bags were a rip-off :L in my defence I was only nine and hadn't learned to engage my brain before giving my opinion on something :L I am now beginning to see why the shop assistants were glaring at me...

Checking in. Bored to tears most days of the week. No work experience sorted (though I'm also considering a bit in local radio). But yeah, generally good summer.

Got the SENIOR uniform the other day though, kinda scary if anything, the thought of having 3 years clocked in.

Now will have the luxury of all first, second and third years nervously avoiding eye contact with a "black jumper":D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,226 ✭✭✭Liordi

    JC results out September 10th.
    :D

I've not been doing much over the summer..staying up all night.
I haven't even started looking for work experience yet. :/

Ye have a seniors uniform?! So lucky! We get no privileges as TYs- just the hatred of every other year in the school...:'( we don't even have an area like every other year does...

I don't think TY's even get lockers in our school, which is annoying considering we still pay the "book and locker rental fee" like every other year.

Do TY's even have books as such?

Finally have both work experience and community care sorted (after emailing about 20 places).

Off to carlingford, the week before results. Is anyone nervous yet? I'm grand, but my friends are bricking it because they failed stuff. When is everyone back in? I'll be in on wednesday but our induction is on friday :(

Me too, we were able to write down names of 4 people we wanted in our class. At least 1 is guaranteed but they try to give you your first preference.

The problem is, I have 3 really close friends, and I know I'll probably end up stuck in a class alone with my 4th preference.

  • Registered Users Posts: 336 ✭✭smiles_1998

We are back Thursday week :) I'm kind of nervous for the results but at the same time I will be glad to get them and finally have the Junior cert over with :)
I can't wait for work experience but we do a lot of sports activities in TY and I am not sporty in the slightest...:(
We are just put into random TY groups and we are not allowed move from one group to another. I don't mind that because there was a load of drama with my friends last year and I will be glad to get away from some of them!

How academic is TY in your schools? My year always gets the raw deal (second year trip to barcelona happened for years and ended the year we were meant to go). We've been told that this year, there'll be more focus on actually learning in class (was actually looking forward to a doss year). Also, our summer exams will decide the classes/levels for the leaving.
