Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kitchen hot tap pressure low

Hoping to get some idea of what to try next here....

It started when we had a bit of leak coming from kitchen taps, had a plumber come round and he fit a spindle to the hot tap, was no leak afterward and pressure was ok.

Gradually the pressure decreased. I got a new spindle from heat merchants hoping maby it might solve, but its the same.

When we open the hot tap the pressure is ok untill the water turns hot, then it becomes only a dribble. We don't any spurts like start stopping just a steady dribble.

The pressure of hot water in bathroom from sink and bath is normal.

I tried using a hose from cold water supply back up hot water tap in case there was air trapped somewhere but I'm not sure if enough pressure was applied to the line.

When i loosen the spindle a bit I can can a half good flow of hot water but the spindle will start leaking as its too loose.

Apart from getting the plumber back again, any ideas I could try ?

It is a local problem, I.E at the spindle. The spindle is ok.

the washer is wrongly sized and expanding when it heats up.

Compare washer from cold side or even swap out the spindles.

    Thanks Mickey.
Unbeliveably there was an extra washer between the spindle and the water supply. Like WTF?

Only thing I can think of is the plumber who put the spindle in months ago, added the washer for some reason. Edjit.

Thanks Mickey, got me thinking to check under the spindle, there was a washer sitting on top of the pipe where the spindle connects. Turns out it shouldn;t have been there. Sorted.

What a gombeen of a plumber that left it like that.
