I was looking at some shows in the classic section of RTE player
The ads played then instead of the show being played a yellow warning triangle presented itself and beside it "The F4M document contains errors" what is this and what can be done to remedy it.
This issue does not seem to exist on RTE player XL nor in RTE player in current programming and some classic programming (It seems most classic programming that I tried are affected with "The F4M document contains errors")

My brother was trying to watch Love Hate and got a similar error.

"This error has an id of 0 and is most likely to have been triggered by a load failure or parse failure of .F4M or plugin content."

Any info on this would be great.

I wanted to rewatch Love/Hate and also watch Fair City and got the same. I normally do not have this problem and indeed watched episodes of Fair City fine on it last week.

got the same error last night constantly. thought it wa just because I was using a smart tv to connect but tried it on phone and laptop and got the same errors. Seems that RTE Player is buggy as hell. Send your problem in to RTE using this contact form:

Below is the information I received from RTÉ player feedback

Thank you for contacting RTÉ Player with your query.

The RTÉ player is a 21-day catch-up service for programmes which have been broadcast on RTÉ One and RTÉ Two. Only programmes which have been transmitted within this period and/or which have gained online rights clearances will be made available in the RTÉ player.

There are a few steps you can take which may improve the performance of the RTÉ Player on your computer.
First you may need to update your Adobe Flash player. The most recent version can be downloaded here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If you are using Google Chrome as your web browser you can update the flash player by pasting the following into your address bar: chrome://help/

You may need to reset the licence files in your flash player. This can be done by going to the following link:
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager08.html
Simply click the ‘reset licence files’ button on the page and restart your browser.

You may also need to clear your temporary internet files and disable any ad blocking plugins you may have on your browser.

If the player still does not work after carrying out these steps, we would then ask you to go to the following link http://www.rte.ie/playertest/diag.html and please wait for the diagnostic test to run.

If the test is successful you will receive a message stating "Test Passed at: X seconds", please then continue to the RTÉ Player and attempt to watch your chosen programme.

If the test fails please email us back with the result of the test and we will investigate further.

If the player still does not work after carrying out these steps, please visit the XL version of the site and view the programme there: http://www.rte.ie/playerxl/

I went digging on here when I had a prob with the RTE Player and low and behold some others had the exact same problem..
My RTE player had been working fine until about two days ago.

Basically, When I click on the play button to watch a programme I get the message-
"This error has an id of 0 and is most likely to have been triggered by a load failure or parse failure of .F4M or plugin content."

I followed all of the steps listed here and then tried to contact RTE Player it didn't allow me, and the message "Try again" kept coming up..

Just wondering if anyone else had this kind of problem or what may be the solution.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks
