Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have to say, drug testing chess players for stimulants sounds ludicrous. I can't see the local club kicking out the teenagers for drinking Red Bull during their games!

Draw again today. Anand looked like he could have pushed a bit more but he traded off into a drawn Rook and Pawn endgame. He was a bit short on time.

Hopefully he can at least draw the next game and we will get all 12 games and a do or die game with white for Anand.

Wouldn't it be great if he just opened with the King's gambit or played 1...a6 in response to 1.e4. If Tony Miles could beat Karpov in his prime with it then why not have at it?

I'm following this game on my phone with no commentary - look like Anand can pick up the d pawn for free at the moment?! I wish I could listen to Svidler to get the inside scoop, seems like a fantastic game.

EDIT: Scratch that - I missed the obvious night on f6.

The Tiger bit back, but........he bit too much
Was it a rush of blood to the head !? the Rb4 move ??
If he had gone to b3 then he probably would have gotten the draw and then white pieces next game.
Fair play to Carlsen, he showed why he's the best, you could see his concentration levels go up when Vishy played b5, he was like 'oh what's this?!'
