Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

New porch advice

    Hi,

Looking for some quick advice if possible. Getting a new porch installed (mid-terrace, lean to roof, upvc with french doors and glass either side)

There will be a concrete base (2 sq metres) to bring it up to the height of the existing door. Questions...
    • Is it normal or worthwhile to insulate the floor of a porch like this?
    • For the damp proof membrane - the builder says it will be turned up where the new base meets the house. I'm not sure what happens at the other edges or if anything needs to happen? Do I need to worry about this?
    • What thickness of hardcore would a porch this size require?

Thanks! (I'm getting conflicting advice so wanted some extra feedback)

I would have an inch of insulation fitted between the new slab and the house wall, especially if inner floor is concrete.
