Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone marathon training in SW (Kerry)...

...doing mostly trail and mountain running, feel like I should get a few 3 hour plus road runs in in next few weeks to get the "feel" of it again before Tralee Marathon in mid March.

The thought of slogging it out for 3 hours or more alone on a tarred surface is not grabbing me and all the runners I know are either shorter distance or stay off road, so wondering if anyone know any group or others training for it in Kerry so I could fall in with them?

The "Born to Run" training group for the Tralee marathon might be just what you are looking for.

I wouldn't be up to your distance (1/2 marathon would be a push for me) but was thinking of setting up a facebook page for Running in Killarney.

It's surprising that there is no group considering how many people I pass while out running.

I was thinking something basic, 2 or 3 set times in the week and then people could post suggested times for small groups.

Contacted that Born to Run crowd who were out this morning, but seemed very much for beginners. So went to Clon to meet a friend and did a 2 hour 26 km run...possibly a bit faster and shorter than ideal for a marathon but good to get a feel of the roads again. Had forgotten how...different road running is. Running mountains gives you a false sense of your own toughness!
