Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    From Our Own Correspondent.

Great descriptive accounts from the life of and by random BBC correspondents around the world.

    BBC
    Title (#Episodes * Lengths)

    In Our Time: History (~50 * 30mins)
    In Our Time: Philosophy (~50 * 30mins)
China: As History is My Witness (10 * 15mins)
    Infinite Monkey Cage (~15+ * 30mins)
    A Brief History of Mathematics (10 * 15mins)
    Reith Lectures ( ... * 50mins )

Thought I should lump all the BBC ones I'm listening to at the same time in together.

Some of the bbc world service podcasts are great.

Outlook and the documentaries are the ones i listen to mostly.
The outlook episode with an interview of Kofi Annan is good.

Yeah they are annoying but I'm used to them at this stage. The podcast is syndicated on national radio in the States (I think!), that's why they have to cut to commercial every once in a while.

I listened to some of those featuring the former head of MI5 - Eliza Manningham-Buller. Very interesting.

Last listened to some BBC World Service documentaries that have been on my player for ages. Some really good stuff there as always, for example, anything involving Peter Taylor. Must have a look around as I don't think I've anything from 2012 or 2013 from their archives.

Admittedly, I've generally filtered out the kinda backslapping emails that Kermode/Mayo read out on their podcast, but on the most recent episode this bothered me more than usual. David Morrissey and Sam Raimi were good fun, though.

Okay, so this is for all those who want a different take on Football. The Cafe Calcio Podcast whic airs on Resonance 104FM (a station dedicted to the Arts and run from the South Bank in London) is fantastic. Hosted by Chris Dixon, Chris Roberts and David Stubbs this little gem take a look at Football in the cultural context and whether you particularly enjoy the sport or not doesn't really matter as the angles they take are just fascinating. To get you started I'd recommend:

You can also listen live on Resonance 104FM

    Enjoy.

Have listened to a few of Bill Maher's podcasts. I've never been too bothered about watching clips online. I don't know why US TV shows insist on the monologue, they're usually pretty poor. Not much different here. But, the rest is pretty good (fits in with some of my political leanings, I suppose) debate and entertaining, some inevitable cheap shots, mind.

Just listened to a new episode of A Life Well Wasted. It's only been 3 years since the last proper episode!

Still keeping the BBC World Service documentaries ticking over. Some scary stuff about hate groups in the US.

i just cant stand listening to boring actor interviews ,on a podcast, unless its a comedian like bill murray.

Blueprints for Armageddon part one. As usual, excellent from Carlin. I also listened to the first few in the Revolutions series by Mike Duncan. It's going to be an excellent series. I still have nearly half the episodes to get through in his fantastic Rome series.

Tangentially Speaking w/ Christopher Ryan - Ep.54 Joe Rogan & Duncan Trussell

It was enjoyable. Felt a bit more like a Rogan episode than a TS episode. I like Joe but he can be a unintentionally domineering. His over-enthusiasm is one of the reasons I stopped listening to his podcast unless he has someone on I really want to hear.

Not my favourite episode but still my favourite podcast. Currently listening to the latest This American Life.

NPR stuff. Trying to catch up.

Snap Judgement. Interesting story about a guy who came to know some members of the KKK in a way you mightn't expect.

Planet Money - interesting story re North Korea.

Big fan of Witness from BBC World News. Bite-sized historical podcasts on 20th century events, as told by journalists and eye witnesses. Good listen and all yarns 10mins long.
