Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Sorry for the late reply

This holy well is off the road from Ballyvaughan to Fanore, about 10 minutes outside of Ballyvaughan. I tried to find it again the other day, and for the life of me could not see the small road leading to it! :( I could see the ruined tower next to it, but no road/path/way to it.

Having said that.... Since it's dry now, I might just venture forth again and try to find it... :)

It's in Fanore. Leave the car at the beach car park. Head out the entrance, turn left and after less than a mile you will see a brown signpost pointing up a lane way that heads uphill. It's up there :) awesome walk.

Hi phog, Just wondering where abouts the green road is? Looks like a good spot for some shots.

The green road is part of the Clare way but the Green Road takes in a section from about Ballinalacken Castle to the road up past Fanore Church - we call it the Khyber Pass, I think on some maps it's call the Cahir valley

See this link, if you hold the mouse over the red dots on the top righthand map the photo on the left will change, there's also some parking spots shown on the map.

If you're into a nice walk and taking photos, set aside a few hours (5+), park in the beach at Fanore, head right from the exit of the beach carpark, you'll come towards the primary school, that the road/track that heads behind the school, this will bring a road heading left and up the hil, head up that way and keep on this road until you come to the Clare Way/Green Rd, head left. Keep on the green road until you come to the next tarmac road, head left again and this will bring you back down the Khyber pass and to Fanore. A reasonably long and hilly walk but well worth it on a sunny day.

Hopefully this link will work. It's the OSI map and shows the route I've outlined above.

This must happen all the time, it's a bad bend turn especially when the weather's good.

Yep, Blakes corner, Ennistymon. Bit of a cause for controversy over wether it should stay or not. You'd think it'd make more sense to widen it, but each to their own I suppose

    Super shot there patrick74.
Curious to know if shot was edited or is that the original image.

  • Registered Users Posts: 61 ✭✭Patrick 74

Has little editing, more about the filters I used on the lense to get the effect I wanted. The white balance was corrected in editing becuse it was wrong and too blue so I had to warm it up.I also lighted the image because I didnt expose it for long enough.I use all manual setting which leaves me open to loads of mistakes,so I shoot in raw to correct afterwards. The Dromoland photo above this is done with a camera coverted to infrared.

    Were you hiking or something?

Yeah,,its an easy hike, even saw a family with kids going up there. Its 15mins or so past Corofin and is quite a popular trail.I would recommend that people go there and walk to the summit. The photo is looking over at the other summit.I will probaly upload a route map later. For photographers its a must and an excellent spot for a panoramic!!
