Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey all. Looking for some opinions on where to look next.
Last week was reversing car and foot slipped off clutch pedal. Following this car would was ticking over and as soon as I put my foot down it would die. Having had big problems with this car last year I didn't chance driving it as water pump seized previously.
I plugged in the opcom s/w and it produced a MAF failure. Have replaced this but problem still occurs.
Have done some checks and cannot figure out what the issue is. Cannot afford to give to a mechanic to try different swapouts to diagnose faults. To date I have checked the timing belt etc all intact and tight. Changed the MAF and also the camshaft sensor. I am having the timing checked tomorrow t see if this might be the problem and also I will swap out the crankshaft sensor as from scouting through the forum sites these are prone to failure without generating fault codes.
I am lucky in that I have a full spare engine.
Wondering if anyone has any opinions. It is the 150bhp Cdti engine (Z19DTH0
    Thanks in advance

My brother has expensive diagnostic equipment that he bought 4 yrs ago.

    Plugged into a 1.9 150bhp diesel Vectra - 2 faults recorded.

I've 5 months old dealer level equipment, plugged into same car - 6 faults required!!!

I was surprised but its true.

Maybe chance someone with dealer level diagnostics

    Plus....

No point in changing sensors unless faults re them are recorded.

If a sensor is not working or giving a sporadic reading, the ECU WILL record that event.

Hi 88Manta - I have cut my losses on the vectra. Changed over a few sensors but could not get it to run. Put it up on DoneDeal and a local mechanic bought the car and spare engine from me. Cheers for the information.
