Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just to confirm and add weight to Bryan's post, no, they cannot act as Assigned Certifier under the current Building Control Regulations.

Lads that's not strictly true, you are correct in that there is no statutory register for Architectural Technologists however a number of of them mainly Chartered Architectural Technologists have been able to achieve registration on the Surveyors register and a number of others have done the RIAI technical assessment route and have achieved registration on the Architects register. The OP should check with the person they are engaging if they can act as certifier or not and confirm which register they are on if any!!

    An important clarification by No.6

While the Department and others have conspired to remove the title of architectural technologist from the system, a considerable number have registered on the basis of competence as Building Surveyors, but will (rightly) still choose to use their original qualification as well.

Chartered Engineers and Chartered Building surveyors can also act as your AC-don't limit your choice to only using an Architect.
