Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was just looking at a Sony Vaio at the Sony Centre.

The spec. is-15.5 screen, integrated graphics card (shared memory), 500gb hard drive, 2.1ghz dual core processor, 3gb ram, wireless card reader. The model is VGNNW26003B.

It's meant to be `€550 down from `€700. But in Peats its 550 down from 600.

I'm looking for a laptop for around the 550 to 600 mark.

Anyone any views on whether the laptop is any use? Or what alternatives there are?

    Thanks.

Depends on what you want the laptop for.

The specs are alright but quite an old CPU and integrated graphics wouldn't be great for gaming even older ones.

If you arn't looking for gaming specs you could get a HD screen in the Sony E series for approximately your budget (VPCEB1M0E/WI)

never mind what the priced used to be, don't get sucked into that one.
What Operating System is it running? I suspect non Windows 7, I've seen Sony Centres flogging off machines with Vista on them.

Thats not a bad laptop, may "loose" mine.

Nice processor, memory and a reasonable price too. I would recommend going for the Productivity Package on the right side of the screen because of the more powerful graphics card and more memory. Although this would be aimed specifically at gaming it wouldn't hurt for just general use.
