Hostel/Cheap Accomadation in Wexford

I'm going to be doing a bike race in Wexford on 23 and 24 August and I'm looking for a cheap place to stay on the Saturday night (23rd). The race itself will be taking place in Camross just outside Wexford Town while a stage will also take place in the town on the boardwalk I've been told so it would be nice to be near the town if possible. I was looking at a place called stayinginwexford but it appears to be booked out on those dates. Anyone know of anything else self catering or under 30euro? Cheers.

That was the worst place I have ever stayed. So bad, I left after 2 nights (had booked a week) and paid to stay somewhere else. The only time I have ever ever had to leave somewhere or even consider it!

Edit: That was 2 years ago, it is entirely possible it has improved since then.

Could someone please tell me where the "cheaper B & Bs which have onsuites and free secure parking with in the same area" as mentioned in the 1st comment can be found?

I would highly recommend Auburn terrace, the guy that runs it is really lovely. It's a B&B, just opposite the train station and has private parking at the back. It's beside the Dunnes. It had great breakfast too and good value.

I have also stayed in Jim McGee's, which has rooms above a bar. There wasn't breakfast but the rooms were perfect and it suited my needs. There is onstreet parking. Probably cheaper. Again, walk into town easily.

How about the Riverbank House Hotel in Wexford. I believe they have very reasonable rates & the staff are lovely they cannot do enough for you. Also their food is beautiful & also very reasonable.

Think I'll just end up camping. after staying in a hostel for 15quid a night it's hard to justify paying 60quid for a room. Thanks for all the advice though.

The Kirwan Hosue hostel has been closed for at least 3 or 4 years.

Another option in the B&B route is Bugler's Bar in South Main Street, cheap but nice and it's in the heart of town.
