Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Advice on concrete base for steel shed

Ordered a 6 by 3m steel shed which will be delivered in 3-4 weeks. Need to have the base ready and opted to do it myself to save money. Just looking for a bit of advice on how to do this properly. Firstly, I will be making up the frame using 4 by 2's. Then I will be compacting the area with stone prior to concrete. What type of stone should I use and roughly what amount would do an area of 6.5m by 3.5? Should I compact the stone first then put the frame on top so I'll have 4" of concrete or compact the stone in the frame with less thickness? Also, would it make more sense to do a border of roughly 1 metre around the area in concrete, then when the shed is in, add in the floor-or concrete the whole base in one go then put the floor in on top of the base (with damp course)?

ya did something similar with my dad a couple of years ago for a steel garage. we dug and levelled the area first by hand, then we set out a border with bits of timber he had roughly 2ft wide. mixed the cement using mixer and filled the border. garage was delivered a few days later and erected. we then put down the base used old rubble which we broke down using lump hammer. we compacted this put sand on top then dpc and finally cement floor. there are easier ways to do it but it cost next to nothing to do
