Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Irish Freemason Records on Ancestry

    The membership registries of both English and Irish Freemasonry are up on Ancestry.com

    Very interesting database and can reveal occupation and death dates for ancestors. The records go back to early to mid 18th century!

    61 hits for my mothers rather rare, but conventionally protestant surname. That's going on the list for a likely Christmas period sub...

    My father's extremely common surname only throws up 409 and I'd hazard a guess there's more like 1000 times more instances of that surname in Ireland than 6 and an half.
