Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He's the only technical guitarist I know of who makes his own guitars, this one is to enable alternate tuning songs to be played live. Surprised the Floyd is on top though.

If you want to hear Ron (and trust me, it is in your interest to hear him) give this (legal) a listen

Nice, but not my cup o' tea. I agree that the floyd would be better on the bottom, more comfortable. Pretty cool finish

Both EVH and Vai made their own guitars. Not from scratch but they bolted different ones together.

And yes, Floyd on the bottom. Unless he likes having the guitar up high normally and he always uses the thing.

Yeah, the PCB design is pretty cool. He builds them from scratch (though sometimes cannibalises necks - the bottom neck is a lefty from something). Two tones and no volume control? Amazing player. With any luck the Watchtower album will see the light of day eventually.

Don't particularly like the body design

I think he goes for functionality over aesthetics ;)

For example, the 29 fret guitar

Change the headstock and lower horn and I like that.

He got the neck off a short scale bass and put a new fretboard on it, filled the four bass tuner holes and drilled 6 for guitar. Crazy bastid :p

    I've seen weirder tbh.

Wierder yes, but that 29 fret is his main guitar :)
