Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So i just cant get my head around this i have been told by so many people that solar panels are only for heating water. can a pipe not just run off in to the radiators.

Also i got a price to get solar panels and gas installed into the house.
    so it was:
    two solar panels
    bosch boiler
3 coil 210l hot water cylinder (3rd coil for back boiler on fire)
    + piping
also a link exchanger for crossing over the solid fuel and gas
safety switch so if one is on the other goes off.

The price was €7600. is this a good price.
does any body know who else can do this so i can shop around ?

Yes, but they only provide significant amounts of heat in summer time while radiators are traditionally more useful in winter time.
Hopefully you can see the problem here.
I can't offer any advice on your pricing.

what you want to know is the payback time

how long is the system guaranteed for / what is it's design lifetime ?
how much will it save you in fuel costs per year

Also try to get an idea of how much it would cost to repair should there be a fault in case the economics keel over in the event of problems with the system later on.
