car starting problem

just new to this site .I have a 02gttdi golf that goes first tip sometimes and then becomes very hard to start. Tried new fuel pump and recently fitted new camshaft. also new battery and starter seems to be turning engine quick enough. any one else have similar symptoms wit a golf?
