Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why is medicine so popular? Does it really pay that much or is it more a kind of reputation thing? and could you make more money with any other careers?

Know someone whose parents are both doctors who is now also a doctor and is also married to a doctor. They were totally honest that they did it purely for the money so they could use it to invest in other things/hopefully start a business, so yes, the money is good. And of course there are other careers with better pay, some surgeons can earn hundreds of thousands per year. So can lawyers, CEOs, oil drillers. If you have the money and dedication to pursue the top prestigious careers, especially entrepreneurial/CEO, then it'd be a shame to waste the potential.
