Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Privacy Glass \ Tinted Windows

I recently bought a people carrier. I was kind of hoping to find one with privacy glass in the back but the one I bought in the end doesn't have it.

I was thinking of looking into getting it fitted now but I know nothing about them so I was hoping someone here might be able to answer a few questions.

The main reason we were thinking of getting it is so that kids might sleep better in the back on a sunny day. Is it effective for this ?

I see it advertised as Privacy Glass in some places and Tinted windows in others. Is it the same thing ?

Does the whole glass have a tint running through it. i.e. Is the glass made differently or it just a film stuck on the outside of normal glass...? By this I suppose I am asking, would I need to actually put new glass in the car or would it be possible to get my existing glass tinted.

Is it expensive. Considering there is a fair whack of glass in a people carrier to do...?

Anyone know any place decent in Limerick that does it.

shades in blanchardstown will do it for around the 200 euro mark, vision fx in clondalkin wll be roughly the same price.

but basically the film is placed on the inside of your car.

Pro image out in eastway business park, building beside daly tyres and NCT center do window tinting / privacy film.

If you are only getting the back and side windows done expect to pay about €200.. if you were to do the full car it would be around €300..mpv's are more expensive to do than regular cars..
