I don't even bother checking the 'freebie list' thread anymore (unless a post is reported in there obviously) as I've applied for hundreds of things in the past which never arrived.

But seeing as it's an Irish freebie, this is more likely to actually reach us.

Filled it in, but these things are usually 128MB.

Also says "while stocks last" in brackets beside the "free usb key" part, once you complete the forum, so they mightnt have too many of them

I've a feeling none of us will get one.

I remember being at a careers show with Credit Suisse handing out free 256MB ones.
I managed to grab 3 of em but they were f ucked.
Anything I copied something onto them the file got corrupted.
Also have a Deloitte and Touche 128MB one floating around.
Never used the thing.

128mb perfectly usefull for me, I'll only be storing lots of paintext and some portable apps on it until I loose it, within a month no doubt.

got this today in the post, the prospectus not the key

there was a slit in the envelope so maybe somebody in the postal service decided I didn't need the usb key... or maybe it wasnt in the envelope to start with, would be interested to know if others get it

Exact same thing - one corner was slit, rest of the envelope was perfect. Has anyone contacted GCD to enquire?

Did anyone get a usb key ? seems like a scam by the college to drum up a bit of interest tbh. I think anyone who applies for the purpose of getting the key was only ever going to bin the prospectus anyway so waste of time by them all round.

Did anyone actually get the key? That was a bit of a sly tactic. If I don't get a key with mine and theres mysterious slits in the envelope, I'm emailing GCD and telling them to cop on:D

I applied for this too. I got 2 separate prospectus' and didn't get the usb key in either of them, Interestingly enough both of the envelopes had a hole in the corner. So i dunno if someone nicked it or what. Its bit strange that a large number of the envelopes had a slit in the corner. Sooo dodgy.

HAHAHA! That's so cruel. I heard they're very open to bribes.

I think I'll give this alert a miss. Sounds a bit dodgy. Maybe the keys are from old ones that people left in the (college) computers after they were finished and forgot about them. But they might not have enough to go around so they're waiting for another year of students to forget about their usb drives.
