Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Airplane mode at night...better alternative?

To avoid emails waking me up, I usually switch on airplane mode before going asleep. But this means that if anyone needs to ring me they won't be able. But the only alternative I can see is to individually select to turn off receiving emails but that's a bit of a trek through settings.

Is there a handier way to stop the phone from beeping for incoming emails?

Just turn off your data via the widget?

I put my phone in Airplane mode at night because I'm not find of the notion of having a radiative source near my head for long periods..

Probably not an issue unless you sleep with it under your pillow. :)

I just turn data off. I'd hate for someone to be unable to contact me urgently.... (and they'd call/text rather than email!)

If you have a HTC, just hold in power button and it gives option to turn off data.

Don't know if its the same on all androids as i only have my desire two days now,

If you have a HTC, there is a widget. Press the + button to add a widget to the homepage, go to HTC, Settings, and there is a Mobile Data widget. That will let you turn data on and off by pressing an icon.

I use juice defender to automatically switch on flight mode at night and back to normal in the morning.

Doesn't the default power widget with the sync option disable email sync?

I use an app called Bedside to silence the phone for everything except calls at night.

Because often you will want phone calls to come through but not be woken up by stuff like emails and texts?

I think that widget is only in 2.x

I use Locale to silence the phone at night, and there are plugins available to just silence email.
