Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

IÉ Premier Class - Wireless?

    Hey guys,

Does anybody know whether or not premier class on intercity IE services offer internet access?

I know that some first class services on UK train services offer it, but I think it might be a bit optimistic to expect IE to offer it. I e-mailed the company, but (unsurprisingly) I never got a reply, and I've spent a good hour trying to find any information at all on Premier Class.

Any help would be much appreciated.

There isn't wireless as of yet. The word I heard was that it was decided against fitting it pending a cheaper, more secure and more reliable technology on the way.

I suspect they might never go with it if mobile phone internet picks up to decent levels.

Can I suggest you write to them, asking for wireless.

    I'd say it's a long way off.

For now why not use one of those 3G cards from 3/O2/Vodafone.

Does no one else remember Smart being awarded the job of installing wifi to trains?

Well, we use them in work for 3 DSL lines and our VOIP, so if they went bust i'm sure we'd've noticed.

The core, LLU DSL service was maintained. Everything else went - I'm not even sure their payphones work anymore! They went to the wall very, very spectacularly...

Smart are still around, in fact I'm writing this on my 13m/1m Smart connection and my Smart supplied TV service is on in the corner of the room.

Smart are still trading, yes; my point was that they did cease trading at one point and disconnected customers. I don't think they will be putting wireless into trains anytime soon.
