Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering is there an all in one wonder blood test men can get done to test for numerous types of cancer?

if there's not is there anywhere you can go and get multiple screening in the one place?

As I've just past the big 30 it's started to play on my mind that I don't go for check ups 'etc as often as I should.

My advice is for all men to have an annual check up with your GP. It's possible in one visit to screen for Diabetes, cholsterol, kidney function, etc etc. You shoukd also have yourself checked for moles, melanoma from head to toe.

This is not individual medical advice.
Unfortunately there is not an "all in one" blood test for cancer. It would be great if there was.
    In general to avoid cancers:
    Don't smoke
Eat a diet with plenty fruit and veg
    Stick to healthy alcohol limits
    Check testicles for lumps
Let GP know if any change in bowel habit/blood from bum/weight loss/change in urinary stream and getting up at night to pee.

I regularly go for the all in one bolood test, tests for any abnormalities and can alert you to potential problems by measuring the readings on white blood cells etc,as far as i am aware they can detect if cancer is in you body.As for prostate etc you van check yourself or have your doc check you, forget the embarrassment and/or fear of going to the docs, theyve done these tests many times before and your chances of recovery or beating certain cancers are early detection

My local GP takes the blood and sends it off and youcan get the results a few days later if anything is suspect

best to go to your GP and express your concerns. blood tests dont show up all cancers. But maybe your GP can do an FBC (full blood count) and try to make a list of any known family history. Weight loss is another thing to keep an eye on, but in general if you feel ok and have no sympthoms then its best to chat with your gp either way :) and keep an out out for changes like AmcD mentioned!
