So has Antarctica. Even Satellite is useless close to the poles.

In Ireland everywhere that has ESB could have 200Mbps MINIMUM peak speed Fibre to the home for less than 1/2 cost of a proper national 4G that has minimum of no connect or 0.12Mbps and only 2Mbps average a couple of years ago!

Who claims it can't be done?

We could have had ordinary universal broadband 7 years ago, instead they pissed away money on consultants, Satellite and Mobile.

Maybe the secret plan is to wait until 1000Mbps minimum for everyone is cheaper?

The problem in Ireland is that vested interests and cronies can't make much money from broadband. If broadband was as profitable to the Fianna Fail corrupt cronies and developers then you'd have 1terabit fibre to the top of Carrauntohiil and nationwide wifi coverage of every field and ditch.

Unless the cronies can profit then government won't spend. Motorways built and cronie farmers paid €80k an acre for holes of bog and water worth maybe €3k, the state can and will do stuff but only once all the under-leechs are fed and watered out of it, jobs for life in some 2-bit public servant role are needed as well for the family members of cronies because they wouldn't last 2 minutes in the real world.

I don't think I've read as many aged, lazy clichés in a single post in a long time!
