Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey,

Not very technically minded so just have a few questions before i finally click buy on Dell :)

Memory - 1024mb or 2048mb? Girlfriend downloads a bit of music but nothing very hectic. Also ive been told that if i get 1024mb, i should get XP as opposed to Vista, any thoughts??

Hard Drive - 80GB, 120GB or 160GB - In my eyes this is what the machine stores? Im assuming that 80 or 120GB should be OK?? should only be saving college documents and a few games

Also, whats the difference with the different Processors? or is it very important?

Have to get the wireless O2 broadband for whichever one i get - is there anything special i need so tis works well or better?

Sorry for all the questions :o but any advice would be fantastic

Vista can run on 1024MBs of ram but not all that fast. You should really get 2048MBs of ram for vista. Xp on the otherhand will run fine on 1024MBs of ram.

The bigger the hard drive the more stuff you can store. I have a 40GB mp3 player and it's only about half full. So 80 or 120 should be enough for her. If she ever needs any more she can always get an external hard drive.

For what you say she'll be doing the processor won't make much of a difference.

The o2 broadband should work fine. You get everything you need with it.
