Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

I'm relatively new to the running scene, but I have always played sports so I've always been active. I have never had an injury however and I'm unsure of the best way to proceed.

I was out for a 10k run on Sunday, and after about 8k I had to stop as the outside of my right foot was killing me. I tried to start again but it just wasn't happening. I walked/hopped home and began researching running injuries. There was no swelling or redness and the area wasn't tender to touch, but it did cause discomfort when walking. I am worried that it might be a stress fracture - please correct me if I am wrong. Either way, I don't want to try running again until I can find out what happened.

My question to you folks is this:
Who is the best person to go to first? GP, physio, health clinic for an X-ray? Someone else?

Try the 2 rule I was always told. Take two days with no training. If it is better belt away, if not take two weeks. Try it again and if its not right go see a whichever professional is most appropriate to the injury. I always try it after more like 7-8 days as well and find a lot of ailments clear up by then too.
