08 corsa and astra, same oil for both?

    due an oil change soon and pretty sure this was what i used last year http://www.micksgarage.com/proddetails.aspx?pid=4227551 to do it. it was on special in halfords and the guy there said that was the right spec for it. i went onto the castrol website there and its coming up saying :
    edge 5w 30
    or
    magnatec 5w 40
    is what i should be using. why the difference??

    and my wife is after buying a 08 corsa so i'm wondering it that is the same oil i should be using too??

    i emailed opel ireland to find out my answer so they came back with

    "The engine oil we recommend for all our vehicles is Dexus 3 5W-30 fully synthetic or equivalent"

    i did a quick google search and i'm think it should be dexos 2 as i couldn't find dexus 3???
