Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

BMW warning light

    Hey

    I cant post an image as im in work but on the way in I got a warning light on my dash on a 03 5 series.

    Its a square with a clock inside it, anyone know what it means?? (I dont have the owner manual) Engine starting to sound a bit funny too, I noticed a groan everytime I have started turning the steering wheel!

    Anyway just want to know what it means as I will get it looked at tomorrow but I need to know whether I should stop driving it or not. Google couldnt help me so I am asking the good people of the motors forum!!

    As the others say it's hard to tell without a picture - but it might be a "service required" indicator for the engine or brake fluid.

    I'm assuming it looks like the one on the lower left in this picture...

    in which case it is a service due light and you should be grand to do a couple more miles on it.

    If that ^ is all it is, then you've an overactive imagination re: engine sounds. It's easy happen though! Steering groan could be a suspension/steering part on the way out (tie rods most likely).

    What milage is on the car?

    Yup thats the symbol. Service due is good news - And the groan is very pronounced on the steering so no imagination required :D

    The groan sounds like power steering pump to me.
