Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Smoky(Blue) Ford 7610.....

    Fair bit of blue smoke on start up and when idling , hold her at high rev and it will clear(still a slight tint of blue) it will throw oil out the dip stick when lifted, starts fairly handy for a Ford :)

    Engine on way out? is there an engine oil additive to help clear blue smoke?? help get me through the summer .

    The valve seals maybe..is it really bad?bardhal stop smoke might help I used this in a early 90s fiesta worked ok didn't cure it bit helped

    Sounds like rings/possible hole in the piston as its Sounds like it's pressurising the crankcase

    It depends what the tractor is going to be used for. The last 7610 is now 23-4 years old, so theres bound to be wear. Don't be worrying unduly, it could be going when we aren't. I have seen Ford engines spitting oil out the dipstick for years. The Powerstar engines as fitted to the next, 40 series tractor were a massive improvement, longetivity wise and every way. The head probably does need to be done plus the bores/rings are probably worn, but unless you intend spending possibly 3 grand , leave alone as long as you can. If you go in there, be prepared to do everything.
