Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Copper cylinder type help needed

    Issue.is anyone familiar or can give advise? Will the copper indirect immersion cylinder (lagged) with the small copper tank thats attatched that houses the immersion use more electricity than the full intank lagged immersion type for a house with a high hot water use.

    I forgot to mention, that the cylinder with the attatched tank was controlled by a digital timer that came with the set up. It looked like it was a resettable timed event if that makes sense. It had burnt out some time ago and was replaced with the standard mechanical clock type.

    Simple answer no. The willis type water heater will heat 4.5 litres of water every 5 mins rated at 2kw.
    The internal immersion has two elements a 2kw one for sink and a 2.75kw for bath.
    So depending on water usage the willis type is the cheapest to run as its more instantaneous

    Thats it exactly. The electric bill was 750 € and its a 3 bed house.

    If that's the case the immersion must have never been switched off.
