hey guys, debating selling my PC cause i have little time to play it and wont for the foreseeable future :(

    It was built in Summer 2013 with help from the lads here and this is the spec;

    Item|Price
    Intel Core i5-3570K Box, LGA1155|€205.99
    Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - Intel/AMD|€29.29
    ASRock Z77 Pro3, Sockel 1155, ATX|€83.99
    8GB-Kit G.Skill RipJaws-X PC3-10667U CL9|€51.59
    PowerColor PCS+ HD7870 Myst. Edition 2GB GDDR5(UEFI READY)|€200.54
    Seagate Barracuda 7200 1000GB, SATA 6Gb/s|€57.74
    Cooltek Antiphon Black, ohne Netzteil|€64.00
be quiet! SYSTEM POWER 7 450W|€49.59
    Samsung SH-118AB schwarz|€12.62
    LG 22EA53VQ-P|€134.16
    Sharkoon Drakonia Gaming Laser Mouse|€24.49
LogiLink Gaming & Grafikdesign Mauspad XXL|€2.84
    ASUS PCE-N15|€14.90
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€950.73

    since then ive added a

128gb Samsung SSD 840 series pro
    CM Quickfire Ultimate Mechanical Keyboard
    blu ray disk drive

upgraded the graphics card to a Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Boost OC 2048MB

and upgraded the PSU to a Seasonic M12II Bronze Evo Edition - 620 Watt

    thanks in advance

I would put it up for 3/4s of what you paid for it, but realistically you are looking at around 2/3s. Still a decent pc in a decent case with a decent power supply. Might be better off selling the keyboard seperate (would have been interested if you had been selling it a couple of months ago!)

    Antec One
    Corsair 430W
    AMD A10-5800K
    Corsair Hydro Series H60
    ASRock FM2A75 Pro4-M
    Asus AMD Radeon R9 270X 1120MHz 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E 3.0
    Corsair 16GB 1600Mhz Vengeance Red
    Samsung 250GB 840 Series
    LG DVD-W
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Thinking of selling this, but would I be better off selling it in parts? Cheers

    Samsung 250GB 840 Series €70-80
    LG DVD-W €10
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, wouldn't factor into price. Might be able to push a few euro on with W10, even if just to eliminate the adverts tax.

Iffy on value of the AMD chip and board. Still a very capable gaming machine if you stuck in an i3 tbh.

So you think it would be easier to sell in parts than while?

Well if you're dropping the PC altogether it'd probably be easier to lose whole, as no gamer aside from deadset fanboys want an AMD chip, or the uneducated I suppose. For upgrades, just lose the chip and board, nothing wrong with anything else listed

    Hi,

Not sure if my desktop is just for scrap, but would like to find out for sure before I make any rash decisions:

    Its a Dell 5150 (circa 2003) running Lubuntu/WinXP.
    Pentium 4 3GHz
    1Gb RAM
    100Gb Hard Drive.

Is it worth anything? Could it even be used as a NAS?

Open it up, it likely hasn't any sata connections, probably all ide connectors

As the last person said, if you have SATA connections then you could do something with it. If your connectors are IDE, then there's not really much point.

How much is my computer worth? :)

    i5-4690K
    8GB Crucial Ballistix RAM
    MSI GTX970
ASUS z97 pro wifi ac motherboard
    bequiet 700 or 750w psu I can't remember exactly
    Coolermaster hyper 212 evo

    2 Benq G2420HDBL monitors

I'm looking to sell everything due to change of interest and just wondering how much they are worth. Condition is all very good regarding the CPU parts. Never overclocked. Had them for maybe a year or so but graphics card is only a few months old, have softcopy receipt. Monitors are a little dirty/dusty but absolutely no dead pixels, and always been run at lower than usual brightness so not much stress on them.

Absolutely stinks of our forum :pac:

You could stick the PC up for about €1000 on Adverts, given its worth about that new, and it'd be one of the best valued machines on the site. Given the spec there's no need to make a loss imo

I've no idea the price of the monitors, maybe 80% of retail?

Erm.. I'm really sorry..I don't understand. You said in your singular pricing it's about 700+ without monitors and then said put it up for 1000? Did you mean because people would offer lower or did you mean that I put up my 'whole' computer including some parts I didn't list? Or did you mean everything I listed including the monitors?

Individually that's what they're worth. Given its built, tested with an OS and all drivers, and such a good spec you could list the PC alone for €1000, maybe do a deal with the monitors thrown in.

There are crap machines on Adverts worth maybe €400 going for 700-900 quid, your machine would be a steal for €900 or €1000 in comparison.

Hopefully I've made this clear :)

Probably looking for €1200 is fair imo, if you get any offer over €1100 I'd take that, to forsee lowballers.

That's without the monitors as I've said

You wont really know until you put it up for sale. While the part are worth it, i dont think the demand is there on adverts generally for spending a grand+ on anything. Most people wont recognise the value, and go for a pc 3/4 the price but half the power!

Hope those few people who knows the value of PCs take interest on my ad. Will put it up soon. :) Just allowing a friend first dibs on it if he wants it. If not, it goes on sale. Thank you guys.

Out of curiosity how much did you pay for it originally? Beast of a machine but fairly niche I would imagine.

You could just buy a decent desktop monitor, keyboard and mouse - for those times when a laptop monitor isnt good enough? Cheaper than selling and buying again. Tis what I do anyway.

    newest.jpg

I5 2500k is still a beast of a processor and is basically on par with latest i5 processors. Nothing has really changed with the latest i5s over the last few years.

If it's for gaming a graphics card is all that really needs to be updated and maybe add an SSD. I'd knock the graphics card off the price as not worth a lot and another 50 euro.

Great thanks, was wondering about the processors over the last few years, good to know. Mine is OCed to 4.6ghz so it does great. I have an SSD, samsung 256gb 830. so maybe a new gfx card and that pc is good to go.

Have a look at some cpu benchmarks for games and especially overclocked to 4.6 ghz it's still a beast. Graphics card all that's needed

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

It doesn't even need to be overclocked for 95%+ games. The difference between it and a newer i5 is just a couple of frames and that's with a ridiculously powerful graphics card as well.

    Hey folks,

I'm wondering what a reasonable price for the following would be

    CPU: i5-760
    MOBO: Asus P7H55
    GPU: 460GTX
    RAM: 2GB DDR3 x 2
    PSU: Super Flower 450W

Case: I think I paid €40 back in the day

No HDD as it's on it's last legs.

Those components would be perfect for a cheap HTPC for someone.

I am no expert but i would reckon between €150 - €175 would be my opinion. Maybe €200.

This is selling it as a unit. You may receive more seperately

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could give me a rough estimation on the value of my pc. Its an alienware x51 r2 i got about 2 years ago.

    Intel Core i5-3330 CPU @ 3.00GHz
    6GB DDR3 RAM
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 645
    1TB HDD
Windows 10 (or can be restored to windows 8)
The case is a black alienware x51 case with lights that can change colours

I know its not the most valuable but I was hoping it would be worth a bit more for the alienware brand and case.

Not sure whether to post here or in antiques!

I have an old gateway 2000 tower, originally pentium 1 75Mhz from around 1995. Think I still have the original motherboard, think it has a P3 in it at the moment.

It was heading for a skip but I see interest in old towers on ebay, its a pretty big unit. Even it I got a few quid, sad to see it go to a skip.

Honestly if you got 200 for it youd be pushing it.
Still capable as a word processor but a 310M and first gen i3 arent exactly powerful.

I had a first gen i3 with a 315m and got 200 for it about a year ago so id be assuming there worth slightly less now.

Thats a bit harsh I've seen junk with core 2 processors sell on adverts for 100 I sold a core 2 Dell last week for 90. If its in clean condition he would still get 150 for it and it be a good deal. If it was scratched up and stuff about 100 be ok price.

Adverts isn't a good judge for what electronics are worth in fairness, the prices you've listed are hefty for what was sold

Fair enough my bad just thought it was a bit low but at end of the day its what someone is willing to pay. I do understand what you mean about adverts :)

Thanks for the feedback. I'll probably sell it on to family or friends for their kids. Its ideal for a student needing internet and for word proccessing etc.I just wanted a guiding price.
I'm fully aware that in the context of todays processors its basic.
I checked back, it was in 2010 I bought it.
To give it its dues it still working fine, hasn't slowed down at all and has been looked after well.

"Whoever told you that probably chuckled all the way to the bank.2nd slowest CPU and slowest GPU of its generation.
Any more than €100 would be robbery tbh"
Am I right in saying the first icore3s came out in 2010?

    Q1 of 2010 yeah
    http://ark.intel.com/m/products/43529/Intel-Core-i3-350M-Processor-3M-Cache-2_26-GHz#@product/specifications

Would have been slower than almost all other i3s, all i5s, all i7s, any newish Xeons so it wasn't high spec, as ED E said

It would have been very entry level in 2010 even, the G310M even in 2010 was a very low end card, and that model i3 was your average entry level processor. It would have been about average when you bought it in terms of horsepower, and very low end in terms of graphics, unfortunately - though maybe the sales person pitched it a different way.

Thats a bit harsh I've seen junk with core 2 processors sell on adverts for 100 I sold a core 2 Dell last week for 90. If its in clean condition he would still get 150 for it and it be a good deal. If it was scratched up and stuff about 100 be ok price.

I Agree, 150 would be in the right ballpark, you could certainly upgrade the
processor to an I7 and the RAM also.

It would be a Gen 1 I7 but a good bit quicker.

All the ram in the world won't bring a slow processor up to speed, and upgrading the processor really inst worth the effort, adding an SSD would make it a good but snappier, its the only worthwhile upgrade

Thinking of selling a system to free up money for upgrades to my main rig so looking for how much this should fetch?

    Pentium G3258
    ASRock B85 Killer gaming mobo
    Evga GTX 760 SC
    Corsair CX600
    1TB seagate barracuda
    120GB Kingston SSD
    Corsair Carbide 300R case
    CM 212 Evo cooler

Case also comes with a full custom RGB lighting and psu shroud and very good cable management so its aesthetically pleasing.
Id be roughly expecting it to fetch about 500, would that be about right?

About €500 would be sound as a full system, it's a fair price for the individual components.
