Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Never mind the sauces, the last 2 times Ive been there there has been no pork or beef left.....saying that I still love the place.

First time in there for a bit today. No sauces left... well 3 on most tables but a lot of empty and couldn't find chiptole on any table, just empty bottles :( still nice like but anyway.

what's the diff between their fajita and burrito?

Burrito has beans in it, kinda pointless asking for either one order a fajita you'll be asked if you want beans anyway.

Damn, I will bring my own bottle! Guess they're hung up on a delivery.

Galway, here is your mission: report back when Boojum restocked their hot sauces.

Fajita has onions and peppers and no beans, Burrito has beans and no onions and peppers.

was offered beans but peppers and onions are 70 cent extra

The veg burrito has the onions and peppers as 'the veg' :)

That's the point. if you want a meat burrito, you can get veg in it too, just ask, it's a few cents extra.

We went there Thursday evening (just before 8) and it was like a waste land! There was pretty much nothing left to drink ( fridges were nearly empty), they had one meat (chicken), no beans, no mild or hot salsa, no tomatoe. It was still nice but I was disappointed

Thats par for the course the closer you get to closing time, they definitely dont cook within the last two hours unless theyve huge queues, must be the same in terms of prepping slasa etc so as its fresh the next day.

7 out of the last 10 times I have gone down there they have ran out of something. Usually beans. They seem to have gone a bit lax.

They were inundated with students with Free Boojum vouchers this week. Was down there myself and not surprised they ran out of some stuff with the mad rush that was on!

Do you think they'll ever bother going up on just eat and doing take out? there'd be serious money in it for them. The demand would be hard to meet though.

Anybody give their opinion on how it would compare to somewhere like Pancheros or Chipotle?

The food doesn't really travel in my experience. It's kind of like fish and chips, much better fresh.

I am one stamp away from a tee shirt.

You know if they gave it away I wouldn't want the damn tee shirt. It's like I've earned it now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,772 ✭✭✭civis_liberalis

Have to ask, how many stamps is that?

But you can order it for 5 for everyone to bring home with them ;)

One thing though - I mean, you get your meat, then all the salad, yer salsa, yer sour cream, guacamole etc.
By the time you make it from paying to table, it's kinda lukewarm...
Would adding delivery on top of that not have it just out and out cold?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,536 ✭✭✭hamsterboy

I think it will be cold. La Salsa always have cold deliveries.

I brought one home awhile back for my brother and by the time II gave it to him it was a cold and soggy mess.

I've gotten a burrito there before and walked home to eat it, never found it to be particularly cold. Of course I also only live about 2 minutes away from boojum, so that helps.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,926 ✭✭✭beardybrewer

When they opened I asked about delivery and they were concerned about it not being the quality they wanted by the time it reached your door. Buy by all means, nuke it in the microwave man! Even if it is half as good, you're still way ahead of La Salsa.

Possibly if you can promise 30 or more orders at the same time whatsfordinner will make an exception. Ring them and ask.

Is it just me or are the portions about half of what they used to be? :(
