Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nokia x6 on Meteor at Carphone WH

    Morning all

I haven't seen this offer advertised but I signed up to Meteor yesterday on €20 month for 18 months (200 mins / 200 texts). This is a great tariff when compared to others I've seen. However Meteor are advertising the Nokia X6 at €39.99 on this priceplan which I thought was a great price for this phone (over €100 on Vodafone for their €20 pm plan).

Now the clincher, I got this phone for FREE in the Carphone Warehouse yesterday when I was expecting to pay €39.99. Don't see any offer advertised but I hope this helps someone. Didn't seem to be a mistake and I am def on €20 pm price plan.

Not really a bargain as you signed an 18 month contract, but its good you got it for 0.00.

Don't forget you will need a data add on around €10 month. But worth it unless u want to run up huge bills.

If you use your fone for calls & texts only, then that Meteor plan wins by miles and IMHO is indeed a bargain, especially when compared to the rip-offs from the other networks.

Anyone know if 200/200 €20 offer is for new customers only or can existing customers get it too.

    Cheers Joe

200/200 for €20 is available for all customers to sign up to so long as you aren't already signed into a 12 month contract.

That's actually a serious bargain. And yeah, you'd wanna be getting the €10 data add on.

I've been on this tarrif for the last four months now - got it with a Nokia 5800 which has GPS and Wifi receivers - I am pleased with both the tariff and the phone - think I was quoted €5 for the data add-on... but because I don't need the net on the go and because the phone was intermittently connecting to WAP I got the WAP services switched off - bill has been a flat €20 a month since .

It might be cheaper than the competition, but with data this contract is gonna cost a minimum of €540 (10 data per month plus 20 plan per month over 18 months). Serious money that.

I was looking to move from PAYG to Bill Pay. I'm currently with O2 on PAYG (spending roughly €15 a month - I'm not a heavy user- mostly txts and the odd call) and liked the look of Meteor's €20 per month for 200mins / 200txts ... it also meant that I could get a new phone (I was going to get the LG Optimus) . The deal breaker was I had to pay €100 deposit up-front , which would be credited back to my Meteor account after month 7 of the 18mth contract ... ouch, I was trying to avoid as much upfront costs as possible but still get a decent new phone ... looks like I'll stick with O2 PAYG ...

i was going to change to the smart lite plan i think its €30 for 18 months 200mins/200 texts but this doesnt include free meteor calls and texts...current customers cant get the offer im told, anyone on it?

The only way i cud get this plan with free calls and texts is if i buy a sim from another operator and then change to meteor but that wud mean a new number, fcuk that!

Cant understand why current customers cant get the same offers as new customers??

You can. Just go to a vodafone/02 store, and port to their network, which is free. Once your coverage goes, signifying that you've changed over to that network, go back to Meteor and they'll change you back again. It's a hassle, and I fail to see how they can't do it for existing customers, but you have the same number.

Depends on how much you spend on PAYG - My OH was forking out €40 PM to o2 for 90 minutes of calls and 200 texts - IMO the phone companies are making the real killing on PAYG in this country.

On billpay? In one month? That seems a bad package...

Or did you mean on PAYG? In one month? How do you know how many texts / minutes of calls?

for those on an existing contract, if you call meteor and tell them you want to cancel the contract, it's too expensive etc. they will offer you a better price plan rather than let you go, there's a whole department of people who do this, a friend of mine being one of them.
