Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Actually, given climate change; polar icecaps melting; rising sea levels; environmental / pollution issues arising from a planet which is becoming increasingly over-crowded; maritime potential for both energy and food production as new technologies are developed; etc., etc., I can see this gradually becoming a much bigger area in the future. ;)

Nah, not at all :p ... just making a point! ;)

For that matter, as thelad would know by now, it's not my own area at all.

I was only joking about the earth and ocean course. Generally courses that are too general are the ones that lead to McDonalds. If you work hard enough and maybe do a Masters you could end up in some niche job earning 2 or 300k a year.

If you don't want to do accountancy, then why do a Commerce degree?

Loads of other parts of the course interest me economics, marketing, information systems, business law and German of course. I think there is always going to be one part of your course you dislike, I think. Besides I only have to do it 'til Christmas of 2nd year.

I'm planning on doing a PLC next year anyways and I'll be in with the 5th/6th year accountancy classes so be grand :D

Is a degree at BIMM a terrible choice given that I've never studied music nor taken any formal lessons? Not my first choice, but should I consider it?

That took a while to decide on. I just think that if maths is my favourite subject why not do a degree in it. It helps that I also like chemistry as well.

    1. Economics and Finance - UCD.
    2. Actuarial and Financial Studies - UCD.
    3. To be decided.

I'd love to get either of those two courses but I will have to add at least another course just in-case I don't get the points.
