Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    in a 1L engine?

Currently using 1L per 10,000km approx. Handbook says up to 1L per 1000km is acceptable but this seems excessive?
Can't see any evidence of leaks so I'm assuming its being burnt.

So long as it's kept topped up and not burning lots....i.e. blue smoke, it should be ok, older the car gets it will burn more oil.
Regular checks around the engine, filter and sump area should indicate if gaskets are leaking oil

1L/10K km sounds fine. Older cars and some brands are more prone to oil consumption.

Thanks for responses. Car is 5 years old and properly maintained. I'll just keep an eye.

yeah what you are burning is fine, what the handbook says is very high.
My reckoning in the handbook scenario they weigh the cost of the oil vs the cost of rebuilding to fix that issue. And how much that would cost them for a car in Warranty ;-)
